The Science of Innovation Summit for Journalists at the University of Chicago, founded in 2017, offers professional science and technology journalists a respite from deadlines and insight into pressing subjects, such as climate and energy science, neuroscience, quantum information, the microbiome, advanced batteries, precision medicine and more.

Program Dates: Oct. 28 – 31, 2018

Applications: Applications open in spring 2019 for the 2019 Summit.

Application Process: Applicants are asked to pose a question that they believe faculty and researchers at the University of Chicago and our affiliated national laboratories are uniquely positioned to answer. Those questions will then be used to set the summit agenda. Accepted applicants will be notified by June 15.

Summit Size: 8-10 journalists

Amenities: Lodging and meals are covered, plus a $500 stipend to cover airfare and ground transportation to and from Chicago.
