UChicago CASECatalyzing new collaborations
The University of Chicago Consortium for Advanced Science and Engineering (UChicago CASE) grants University affiliation to approved scientists and scholars from affiliated institutions, currently:
- Argonne National Laboratory
- Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory
- The Field Museum
- The Marine Biological Laboratory
- The Paulson Institute
It may expand in the future to include other institutions.
The goal of UChicago CASE is to broaden the intellectual scope of research activities at the University of Chicago and affiliated institutions by building on their complementary strengths and catalyzing new collaborations in the biological, computational, physical and social sciences, engineering, and public policy.
Through UChicago CASE, scientists and scholars at these institutions receive a wide range of benefits, including:
- Greater ability to participate in joint research projects
- Streamlined access to facilities
- Opportunities to participate in diverse funding sources
UChicago CASE membership categories grant progressive privileges to its members. The standard type of UChicago CASE membership is an at-Large appointment. Unit-affiliated appointments are enhanced by an additional privilege, requiring Division vetting and approval, to formally supervise UChicago students and postdocs.
If you are submitting an initial application to UChicago CASE, please review these categories carefully prior to submitting your membership application.
